MapMyHike is really user-friendly. The first thing you need to do is to create an account. Once that's done, you'll enter a map of your area which you can use to either plan your upcoming route or to record your current one. On the lower part of the screen, you'll find a 'being workout button', as soon as you tap on that button, the app will start to record the distance you walked, your average pace and the calories you burned during your hike. You can also pause your work out or finish if you tap on the same button. The best part is that you can also add pictures so you can always remember the most important parts of your hike.
MapMyHike includes a bunch of other features such as a community of friends where you can add family or friends that share your hobby, nutrition tips, training plans for beginners and experts, work out plans, and a long etc. Unfortunately, many of these features aren't free, but the app does offer a 14 day free trial.
